FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The vision for NCC is to create community and enrich lives.

What is the goal of the community center?

Who is the community center for?

The Northside Community Center (NCC) is for all Tallahassee residents, but it was especially designed with the needs of Northside Tallahassee in mind. Before NCC, there was no community center of its kind north of I-10. Anyone can request an event or register for activities.

Who owns the community center?

NCC was developed by Wildwood Church to meet the needs of their surrounding community, and to provide a shared space for residents to connect with each other.  Wildwood Church owns and operates the community center as a nonprofit organization.

Is it free to use?

NCC does charge rental fees for use of the center. However, these are kept as minimal as possible for the sole purpose of paying for the ongoing operational costs of the center (utilities, etc.). As a nonprofit, we do not generate profit from rentals.

Organizations who use our space, such as athletic leagues and camps, may charge their own costs for registration and participation.

Throughout the year you can expect free events by NCC or partnerships with other organizations. Keep any eye on our calendar for these.

Absolutely! Contact us to learn about the opportunities available.

Can I volunteer?

Is it handicapped accessible?

NCC can host a variety of activities, including sports leagues, summer camps, daytime senior activities, receptions (though not wedding ceremonies), parties, business meetings, concerts and more. Our future expansion will add 36,000 sq. ft. of multipurpose space to our existing 19,000 sq. ft.
